Mel Ryan King
Mel is a visual artist working in simplified forms of animals and landscapes on canvas or board in acrylics and oils. Cherokee (Native American), Appalachian, and Filipino heritage informs a place-based approach to story, color, and line. She regularly collaborates with her husband who also has indigenous heritage (Warumungu). They enjoy exploring where their respective first-nations cultures overlap.
